Does this contain the required 400ug of Folic Acid?
Yes, it does. In fact, it contains the more biologically active form of Folic Acid - Folate, naturally derived from our Food-Grown® process. Folate is easier to absorb and use because it is already activated, this is especially important for some women who are not able to activate standard Folic Acid genetically.
Can I take these whilst pregnant?
These are safe to take when newly pregnant, however, you should now switch to taking our Food-Grown® Pregnancy + New Mother Multi for the duration of your pregnancy as these products have been specifically formulated for conception and do not contain all the nutrients you will need during pregnancy. If you have capsules of your Food-Grown® Fertility Support and Pure Strength Omega 3 left over, we urge you to use them up (don't waste them) alongside the Food-Grown® Pregnancy + New Mother Multi. It is totally safe to combine them (you won't be taking too many nutrients) and it's especially helpful as the first trimester is nutritionally demanding as your baby rapidly develops. Do I need to take extra Vitamin D with this product?
Pregnant women require a greater Vitamin D intake, so we recommend supplementing with our Food-Grown® Vitamin D to ensure your levels are in line with NHS recommendations. Please contact our Nutritional Therapist team if you would like further advice.
Is this suitable to take during assisted fertility (such as IUI, IVF or embryo transfer)?
Yes, this is completely safe to take during assisted fertility.
Is this safe to take if I am breastfeeding but looking to conceive again?
Yes, absolutely. However, as you’re still breastfeeding, your nutritional requirements are higher, so we recommend contacting our Nutritional Therapist team for guidance.
Why does this product contain NAC and Methionine?
N-Acetyl Cysteine has been shown to be a beneficial supplement during preconception and early pregnancy. N-Acetyl Cysteine and other amino acids, such as L-Methionine, along with Folate, B12 and Vitamin B6 support an important biochemical process called methylation. This process plays a vital role in fertility and the development of your baby in the early weeks of pregnancy. Those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet may not consume these amino acids as readily through their diet and will therefore especially benefit from supplementation.
Can my partner take this too?
We advise that you both take additional supplement support during this time, however, we suggest that your partner takes our Food-Grown® Fertility Support for Men.
How long should I take this for?
Research has shown that building an optimum environment for conception can take up to six months, with the minimum recommended preparation time of three months. Therefore, we suggest taking this as soon as you are considering conception.
I am healthy and eat well, do I really need to take supplements?
The increase of intensive farming methods across the world has sadly led to our soil becoming far less nutrient dense, so even the freshest organic fruit and vegetables are deficient in the vitamins and minerals we need. Supplements are essential for modern day living and are particularly important for busy lifestyles, when we are run-down, stressed or simply have less time to eat a fresh and balanced meal. They also help replenish our nutrient levels commonly affected by the intake of medications, alcohol and pollution.
Why can't I get all of this in one capsule?
We only use natural Food-Grown® nutrients and botanicals in our formulas and they do take up more space than the synthetic versions. It would be wonderful if we could fit everything into one capsule but we will never compromise on quality, and effectiveness, to save money on packaging. One top tip... our capsules are easy to open so you can add them to smoothies if you prefer. The Pure Strength Omega 3 comes in tiny, easy to swallow soft gels, to help maintain freshness and purity.
Why do your supplements have a smell?
It's nothing to worry about. Our supplements use nutrients grown from food so that your body recognises and absorbs them better. Independent studies have shown Food-Grown® nutrients to be over 9x more effective than synthetic nutrients - that are used by the majority of the supplement industry. The natural nutrients and botanicals we use have a smell, just like you'd expect from real fruit and vegetables. If you have taken supplements in the past that have bright or perfect colouring, and/or have no smell, it is highly likely they have been made using synthetic nutrients and a chemical process.
When should I take my supplements?
Because our supplements are made from Food-Grown® nutrients you can take them at any time of the day, with or without food.
Does this give me a daily dose of Vitamin D?
Yes it does give you the minimum requirement for this life stage. You may need to supplement more during the darker, winter months (between October and spring). Our biologically active form of Food-Grown® Vitamin D3 is scientifically shown to be 100% more effectively absorbed**.**The results of a scientific study show that when compared to the leading high street Vitamin D supplement in tablet form, the Food-Grown® Vitamin D in our capsules was 100% more effectively absorbed.
